Versions

Following the obsolescence of the actual NAND memory used in the LORIX One (Micron MT29F2G08ABAEAH4) and given the fact that in some situation, 256MB of NAND could be limitating, the LORIX One is now produced with 512MB of NAND since its hardware version 1.0d2.

To find out which version a LORIX One is, you can check the sticker at the back of the gateway. The Hardware version is printed on it.

VersionMemory typeMemory sizeMemory ECC bits
<= 1.0d

Micron MT29F2G08ABAEAH4

256MB4
>= 1.0d2

Micron MT29F4G08ABAEAH4

512MB8

If you can't find any version information on the back sticker, the version is anterior to 1.0d and has 256MB of memory.

Before version 1.0d2

The machine "sama5d4-lorix-one" or "sama5d4-lorix-one-sd" should be used for Yocto image generation.

The machine "lorix-one-256" should be used for Yocto image generation.

The "lorix-one-256-sd" with the system running directly from SD card is not supported by the new firmware.

From version 1.0d2

This new versions brings a total memory of 512MB instead of 256MB. It has also 8bits of ECC (Error Correcting Code) instead of 4 which is better regarding overall error correction.

The machine "sama5d4-lorix-one-512" or "sama5d4-lorix-one-512-sd" should be used for Yocto image generation.

The machine "lorix-one-512" should be used for Yocto image generation.

The "lorix-one-512-sd" with the system running directly from SD card is not supported by the new firmware.

Compatibility

Please note that the image generated using Yocto for the 256MB version cannot be used on the 512MB LORIX One's version (same for 512MB image on the 256MB version).
