Announcement

We are glad to release LORIX OS v1.2. This release focuses on improvements of the packet forwarder configuration and setup. It also brings updates to the LORIX OS base system.

Regressions

The following regressions have been discovered after the release of this version.

US region default frequency plan changed from FSB2 to FSB1

• Introduced: LORIX OS v1.2.0
• Details: The default FSB for US is now FSB1 instead of FSB2 (this is not a true regression, only a undocumented and undesired change). Gateways with the region/frequency plan already defined are not affected, only new installs.
• Workaround: when you use US region, be sure to double check the used frequency plan and select FSB2 if needed.
• Fix: default has been reverted to FSB2 in LORIX OS v1.2.3 and LORIX OS v1.3.3.

Packet log

The UDP Packet Forwarder and the Basic Station now have a live packet log to facilitate end nodes installation.

New regions available

New regions are now available with their frequency plans. The regions available on your gateway depends on the hardware:

LORIX One "EU":

• EU868
• New: IN865
• New: RU864

LORIX One "US" / "AU":

• AU915
• US915
• New: AS920 (AS1)
• New: AS923 (AS2)

New Frequency plans with selector

The UDP Packet Forwarder has been updated with new frequency plans. You can even choose your plan easily from the GUI in the LoRa > Forwarder page:

Update LORIX OS base tools

The base tools have been update by upgrading from Yocto 2.5 (Sumo) to Yocto 3.0 (Zeus). This ensure all the embedded system tools have the latest features and security fixes.

The Linux kernel has also be updated to 5.4.41.
